About Us

Bardy’s Trail Rides offers a one‑of‑a‑kind horseback experience in Seward, Alaska, just minutes from the harbor, train depot, and cruise ship terminal. We’re easy to find—only two miles from the waterfront—yet our trails feel a world away, winding through lush rainforest, open grasslands, and along the shores of Resurrection Bay.

Our goal is to keep rides small, personal, and story‑driven. With a maximum of seven riders per tour, everyone can hear the guide’s stories about local wildlife, Alaska’s history, and the 1964 earthquake that reshaped Seward. No prior horse experience is needed; we welcome all levels and carefully match each rider with a suitable horse, including considerations for riders up to 275 lb (please call ahead for riders over 250).

Safety and comfort are a priority. Complimentary helmets are available for all riders and required for guests 14 and under, per our insurance. Our minimum age is 6 years old, with case‑by‑case exceptions if you call in advance.

On the trail, you may ride through rainforest where moose and bears roam, pass through the old town site destroyed by the quake, cross clear rivers where salmon swim between your horse’s legs, and watch bald eagles nesting, feeding, and soaring overhead. Wildflowers meet the ocean along the beach of Resurrection Bay, making for unforgettable scenery and photos.

We offer two‑hour rides daily at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. for $240 per person (plus tax). It’s just the right amount of time to give you a true Alaska adventure without cutting into the rest of your plans. Gift certificates and a 10% military discount are available.

We recommend booking early—especially in July and August—and contacting us directly with questions about overnight trips or special requests.
